Meet Dr. Peter Ongwae Aondo (aka Dr. POA) 🌟 Recently, Dr. POA, a dedicated public health pharmacist, led an impactful outreach event focused on enhancing community health and awareness. 💪🏽🏥 Participants received essential screenings for non-communicable diseases, including: ✅ Blood Pressure Measurement ✅ Blood Glucose Testing ✅ Weight & Height Assessments ✅ Comprehensive Demographic Data Collection In addition to screenings, Dr. POA provided invaluable health education, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle factors in disease prevention. He meticulously reviewed participants' clinical data and initiated personalized interventions tailored to individual needs. But the work didn't stop there! Dr. POA also encouraged participants to engage in physical activity by walking alongside them, emphasizing the essential role of movement in overall health and well-being. Together, we're building a healthier community, one step at a time! 🌿❤️ #PublicHealth #CommunityOutreach #HealthEducation #PreventiveCare #DrPOA #NonCommunicableDiseases #HealthyLiving #PhysicalWellness #TogetherForHealth

Stay Active, Stay Alive!
Dr. Peter Ongwae Aondo, aka DrPOA, shines a light on an alarming trend: 75% of people lead sedentary lifestyles meaning that they are not physically active , underestimating and undermining the importance of physical activity!

Only 25% engage in regular exercise, and those who do enjoy a 73% lower risk of death,
The consequences of inactivity are dire—
equivalent to the dangers of smoking.

DrPOA recommends walking as an ideal form of exercise. Just 30 minutes a day or 5,000 steps can drastically improve your health!

Walking helps lower risks of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, mental
health issues, and cognitive decline.

A recent survey in Bobasi, Kisii County in the areas of Bonsansa, Riobara,Irongo, Sameta, Ologare, Kiobegi, Gionsaria and Sugubo by Modify Lifestyle Initiatives revealed that only 20% of people over 40 are aware of their hypertension status.

The breakdown is concerning: 18% normal BP, 16% elevated BP,18% Stage 1 and a shocking 47% Stage 2 hypertension,

We need to act fast! Increased awareness and education about hypertension, coupled with promoting physical activity, are crucial for better health outcomes.

Let's get moving and prioritize our health today!  #HealthAwareness #PhysicalActivity #WalkForHealth #BeatHypertension #FundingRequireds
